You’ve got your new card reader installed, and you are ready to make a sale! Here is how to make a sale using Point of Sale v12 and the iPP350 EMV-ready card reader.
NOTE: Before you go into “Make A Sale” The ipp350 card reader is designed to say “This lane is closed”. Once you are in the Make a Sale and click on one of the payment buttons (Debit/Credit), the “lane” will open and the client will be able to use the card reader.
To begin, you will “Make a Sale” from the Home Menu.
Add all items to the receipt.
Tell your client the total, then ask if they are using a credit or debit card. Select the corresponding payment type below – either Credit or Debit.
If they are using debit, they will swipe the card through the swiper, and enter their pin. The card reader is designed so that debit is always swipe, even if it has a chip.
If they are using credit and their credit card does not have a chip, they will swipe the card through the swiper.
If they are using credit and their credit card has a chip, they will insert their card into the bottom of the card reader, and keep it there throughout the transaction.
The ipp350 will approve the sale (or not) and you can complete your sales receipt transaction.
